Our Story

Modumesh began with a simple spark — curiosity. In 2022, my kids convinced me to buy our very first 3D printer: an Ender 3 Pro. The moment we unboxed it, assembled it, and watched that very first layer print… we were hooked.

What started as a fun family experiment quickly became a passion. We spent hours learning, tinkering, failing, and improving — and we loved every moment. The feeling of turning an idea into something real inspired us to dream even bigger.

At first, we called our journey Pah XYZ Printing, but as we grew, we realized the name didn’t fully represent who we were becoming. Our vision expanded beyond just printing — we wanted to build a space for creativity, design, learning, and making.

That’s how Modumesh was born — a name that reflects connection, creativity, and endless possibilities.

Today, Modumesh isn’t just about 3D printing. It’s about:


  • DIY innovation

  • 3D modeling and design

  • Creative learning

  • Custom prints

  • And eventually — merch that represents the maker community

Most importantly, it’s about inspiring others the same way my children inspired me.

This all started with one printer, one idea, and one moment of curiosity — and now, Modumesh is growing into something bigger than we ever imagined.

And this is just the beginning.

Dirk Hillard

the founder of Modumesh, is a creator at heart and an innovator by passion. With a background in full-stack development, entrepreneurship, and 3D printing, Dirk thrives on building ideas from the ground up — whether it's a physical product, a digital experience, or a business.

His journey into the world of 3D printing began in 2022, and what started as a family project quickly evolved into a mission to explore and share the potential of additive manufacturing, design, and DIY technology.

Camilla Hillard

Camilla is an essential part of the Modumesh team and brings her own creative energy to the business. As Dirk’s daughter, she has been part of this journey from the beginning — learning, creating, and helping shape the brand.

She has a natural talent for photography and a strong passion for social media content creation. Whether she’s behind the camera doing product shoots or brainstorming creative ideas, Camilla helps bring Modumesh’s story to life online.

Although she’s still in high school, she already showcases dedication, creativity, and a strong work ethic. Outside of Modumesh, her dream is to become an actress — and her confidence, personality, and storytelling skills shine through in everything she creates.

Camilla represents the next generation of makers, creators, and innovators — and we’re proud to have her as part of the team.

Samuel Hillard

Samuel is Dirk’s son and a key member of the Modumesh team, bringing creativity and curiosity to every project. He supports the brand in multiple roles — from helping with 3D printing to working on graphic design and contributing to social media content. His strong sense of creativity and eye for detail make him an important part of the Modumesh creative process.

Even though he’s still in middle school, Samuel already demonstrates remarkable talent across design, technology, and innovation. He loves learning about history and math, and his passion extends into the world of programming and artificial intelligence. His goal is to become a developer and innovator — someone who builds technology that makes a difference.

Samuel represents the future of Modumesh: smart, creative, curious, and driven.
